This 1.25h Precision Course is an introduction to Part 4, "Flammable and Combustible Liquids", of the 2015 National Fire Code of Canada, focusing primarily on Section 4.1. and Section 4.2. for industrial occupancies.

Learning Outcomes

  • A better understanding of the characteristics and chemical properties of flammable and combustible liquids to help you understand how they are classified under the NFCC.

  • Fundamental knowledge of the specific risks and hazards that these liquids present and how they are considered when evaluating the design of spaces.

  • Awareness of the concepts prescribed in the Fire Code to minimize and mitigate risk of fire and explosion.

  • Tools and tips for approaching design and review.
